For our 1-year wedding anniversary, my husband and I decided to go back where we were married just a year earlier and relive the magic. ITALY!! And of course I was worried about staying fit in Positano.
The jaw dropping landscapes, the diamond sparkling water, and the irresistible cuisine were calling our names!
To make the trip just a little more over the top (‘cause that’s just how I roll), I decided to reconnect with our wedding photographer, Rochelle Cheever, to do a honeymoon shoot with us at the uber exclusive Hotel Il San Peitro.
My Biggest Concern? Staying healthy enough to fit into my new Vionnet dress! (insert panic face)
I’ve learned just because you’re on vacation, doesn’t mean you have a free pass to over indulge on whatever you want. If you do, you will a) Gain weight! b) Feel like crap! and c) Hate your pictures! And ladies, we are worth more than that!
Sure, I wanted that Lemoncello. Of course the pistachio croissants looked amazzzzzing! And hell yeah, I wanted that award winning Sfogliatella Gelato. But, what I wanted more was to look hot in that dress!
To ensure I stayed as fit as possible, I immediately made my health a priority! I took a long hike each morning, which actually turned out to be incredibly special as I saw the town from a different view. I also got down with some TRX training at the hotel which made me quite jubilant!
In addition to my morning two-hour hikes, I also opted for gluten-free pasta when available! I know, I know. Who does that, right? IN ITALY!? But surprisingly, it was actually enjoyable, and I didn’t feel like I was depriving myself.
By the time the shoot came around, I had managed to stay slim enough to fit into that dress and, because I was feeling so great, I even pulled out a bathing suit!
The moral of the story is: you can still enjoy yourself on vacation as long as you try to be conscientious about what you eat, stay active, and try not to over drink!
Remember, you are in control!
Here are some shots from the shoot! I hope you enjoy!
P.S. I guess it’s worth noting during the shoot- I finally had that shot of Lemoncello.
