I am so thrilled to finally share with you all that we are expecting our second child this October!! Oh baby #2! I still can’t believe this is really happening! It’s been a complete mix of emotions since finding out the news. Excited, overwhelmed, panic (we need a bigger house), and certainly an overflow of love!
We went back and forth on whether or not to find out the baby’s gender. It’s the biggest surprise of your life to wait and I’m all about that, BUT, I also need to plan! Like, am I keeping all of Roman’s baby clothes for a little brother? When the phone call finally came from my midwife and she asked me if I wanted to know the baby’s sex, I couldn’t contain myself and shouted, “YES!” I was already planning for a baby brother for Roman. Two adorable little boys running around with curly hair–GAH!! So, when my midwife said, “GIRL!”, I was shocked! Completely taken back. I even asked her to repeat herself. As soon as I hung up the phone, I started to freak out. A baby girl!?! A daughter?! A mini me?! One boy and one girl?! My idea of the perfect family! I was overwhelmed with so much joy and happiness that I spent the next hour in tears.
There was only one person in the world who wanted a baby girl more than I, and that is my husband. I knew I had to share the news with him but in a special way. We were already planning our pregnancy photoshoot, so I decided that would be the perfect time to surprise him with the news. During our shoot I had Roman bring him a gift box to open and inside was a baby girl outfit. When he opened it… Well, you’ll see the photos. There’s really no words to describe that moment!
We are both beyond excited for our gift from God and are praying for a healthy baby! I look forward to sharing this journey with you all and documenting this experience.
