Celebrating All The Strong Women This Mother’s Day 2019

by | May 11, 2019 | Family, Women Empowerment

Being a mom has been both the toughest, most challenging, yet also the most rewarding job I’ve ever had! Of course Mother’s Day is about showering us moms with gifts and love, but this year I’m also reflecting on how, more than anything, it’s an opportunity to really celebrate the relationships we as women build as a community to raise our children, together. As they say, “We were never meant to do motherhood alone.”

How can we as a network of moms give to one another to then give fully to our kids, as a community?

And so for me, this year Mother’s Day is all about reflection and appreciation. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such strong women–both in person and online–who have helped me (and Bart) raise our children to be expressive, adventurous kids. I could never do it without all the undying support!

We did a beautiful family photoshoot session with Kathy Davies. I am so thankful to have these photos to cherish forever.

While I always spend the day with my husband and kids, during which they never fail to make me feel so special, I want to also extend enormous amounts of love toward all the women who help make my children who they are becoming. Mother’s Day is truly a day of gratitude, honoring the powerful women in my life. I don’t take for granted how lucky I am.

Squeeze your kids just a little bit tighter today! If you know a mom, reach out and thank her. If you’re a mom-to-be, start connecting with mom groups in your area. You can find those online, at your local gym, temple, workplace even. Everyone seeks connection and support so with a little bit of outreach you’ll quickly find a whole girl gang to help you get through the challenging times. Of course, as soon as Countdown To Baby launches, you’ll have access to a Facebook group to connect with everyone.

To all the moms out there, I hope you’re having a beautiful day and know just how amazing you are! Happy Mother’s Day to you!
