Our two-week Italy trip started off in beautiful Lago di Como. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to visit here. In fact, we were almost married here but chose Capri in the end (no regrets). The scenery driving to our hotel was absolutely breathtaking! Huge villas surround the lake along with all these charming little towns. We stayed at the beautiful Grand Hotel Tremezzo which is centrally located but not busy. Just pulling up to the hotel you feel like you’re in a movie. They have an amazing floating pool with these James Bond style Italian boats parked outside just waiting to drive you around the lake.
We had the pleasure of taking a boat tour and being driven across the lake to dinner one night in Bellagio. Seeing the landscapes of Lake Como from a boat is something we will never forget! In fact, we loved being on the water so much we rented a boat a few days later and drove all around the lake to take pictures and explore. Roman especially loved sitting on daddy’s lap to help navigate. The cuisine was everything you’d expect it to be: gourmet, delicious, fresh, and completely irresistible!
On our last day we decided to drive to Lugano Switzerland to see Lake Lugano and experience another country. Lugano is actually an Italian city so we found ourselves eating more pasta and pizza even in Switzerland. On the way back to our hotel that night we stopped off for gelato and cappuccinos and stumbled upon a total dance party happening on the lake. Let’s just say Roman was in heaven and stole the show from the DJ.
Our time in Lake Como was magical and we already can’t wait to come back!
