When I was young, my life was dedicated to satisfying the moment. Several days a week, you could find me at the hottest club, bar, or party. Alcohol was a staple and marijuana was not discouraged. Life was less about responsibilities and more about friends and fun! Traveling was paramount – Miami, Ibiza, NYC, Monaco, but only in first class settings. I lived a life of what felt satisfying right now and didn’t care how it affected my future.
As I got older, I began to realize the importance of deeper and more meaningful relationships and developed the desire to settle down with one person. In my late 20s I was lucky enough to find that person. But with the love of this new relationship also brought heartache: his mother was dying of cancer. It was my only first hand experience with such a devastating disease and witnessing her struggle during her final months was an experience that changed my life.
I began to research healthy living. And the more I read and learned, the more I realized that the way I was abusing my body and living my life sickened me. I sought out to learn as much as I could about health and wellness and through books, articles and blogs, my eyes were opened. I no longer wanted to be that person who took her health for granted and my life was changed forever.
Recently I got married and now together we think about our future and the hopes for a child. No longer do I only think about what is satisfying in the moment. I now think of the future. More specifically, the future health and wellness of my myself and of my family.
Through this learning pursuit I have been revitalized and re-energized. I started to learn about the importance and specifics of nutrition, wellness, health, exercise, and the significance that these principles must have in my life and the life of my family. I am certainly not an expert but, with the help of this blog, I strive to be one.
A couple years ago, I started to share my new found fascination of health and wellness with others. It started with social media posts – Facebook, Twitter , Instagram, etc. The response was encouraging and it was truly wonderful to be able to engage with others. It was because of that positive feedback that I started this blog.
I love talking about positive, healthy, uplifting topics and am eager to share my knowledge with all of you. If you’re interested in being a part of the conversation, I welcome feedback and your mutual sharing.
I’m still all about friends, fun and travel, but in a way that is healthy and positive. And now I get to live in the moment without compromising my future!
Thanks for reading and I look forward to taking this journey together.
Love, Bridjet
