I was so last minute with planning Roman’s 2nd birthday party this year. In fact, I was actually considering not doing a party at all which is why invites were sent out with a one week notice. Oops… But, really, would I miss an opportunity to celebrate my awesome son turning another year older? Absolutely not So, I settled on the idea of throwing him a backyard birthday play date themed “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” and invited all of his little playmates.
To keep the catering simple, I hired a local food truck, and together we designed a toddler friendly menu. Our decorations and balloons were all a rainbow colored palette which turned out to be perfect for a backyard party on a sunny day. My favorite piece of decor was Roman’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” birthday sign. I absolutely love how cute it turned out! There’s just something about that song that can make any momma feel emotional and full of love when they read those lyrics!
