This year is all about collaboration over competition. I’m so inspired by all the powerful women around me who are changing the world–big and small. Connecting with these women is so important…which was why co-hosting the Beauty & Wellness Girls’ Night Out at Saks Fifth Avenue was such an honor!
The event at Somerset Mall on February 28 brought a few dozen women together to build community and sisterhood. Saks wasn’t only trying to level up our external beauty and appearance but also support women’s self-care and self-love journeys. To feel truly beautiful, we must care for ourselves from the inside out. That’s where beauty starts. And we must celebrate that, in all its shapes, sizes, and forms.
My co-host Kelli Coleman, owner of 10 Nail Bar in Downtown Detroit, asked me to co-host and you don’t say no to that! She is someone I deeply admire. She encourages me to elevate myself. And that’s what we all must do: surround ourselves with women who bring out the best in us.
At our cores, Kelli and I represent women empowerment. Both on personal levels and in the social media/business world. And so we continue to collaborate. For the Saks event, we invited our closest friends and our networks to nurture a culture of self-care and community building.
If it wasn’t for being a blogger, I would have never met Kelli. She has introduced me to an entirely new network of women; she is a true connector and influencer. We raise each other up. Which is what Women’s History Month (this March) is all about! We’re all stronger together, right?!
“One woman can make a difference but together we can rock the world. “
Kelli and I both rocked some awesome looks!
